Omgili May Change How Webmasters Gain Search Engine Traffic With Forums And Answer Boards

I came across a new-to-me website called Omgili Which stands for “Oh My God I Love it” that has search engine that grabs information from forum and message board posts, mailing lists, and answer boards.

Omigili has the potential to be thee best way to search message boards, forums, mailing lists, and answer boards. Right now there is a tab at the top that combines the searching power to bring back BOTH the regular Google results and Omgili’s results.

Up to this point webmasters have been using message boards, forums, and answer boards, to gain back links and increase traffic from within the forum. There intention is usually not to get their forum post in search engine results but like I said, to gain back links and traffic within the forum.

I can see as Omgili’s popularity grows webmasters spending more time paying attention to their message board, forum posts, and answers on answers boards and the keywords they use as they do with their actual websites and other back link generating methods.

I am pleased how targeted the desired results are for my chosen search terms. I tend to prefer to find my information and answers to my questions via message boards and forums because there is more variety in opinion. Reading an article explaining or discussing a topic, there tends to be only the authors point of view and possibly a few comments. In a message board or forum, there is a variety in opinions and there is usually better feedback relating to the information I am looking for.

Omgili is relativity new, web start-up company established in 2006 and received seed financing just last year in April of 2007. This is not a NEW type of site though. I have come across message board and forum search engines before. I was disappointed because of how few relevant search results came back. Since using Omigili, I tend to find 4 out of the 6 results just on the first page to be relevant. Occasionally there are returns of forum or message board posts with intentions of only trying to sell something, but generally speaking the majority of the search results actually provide very helpful information.

I wonder how long before Google buys them out and adds to their empire.
