I’ve been doing quite well with my Hubpages. Nothing extraordinary, but makeing money online nonetheless.

I started writing at Hubpages back in January and am glad I did. I started makeing money online by writing back in 2000 at Epinions but their “secret formula” pay doesn’t interest me. I like to see what I’m makeing money online with on a daily basis and to actually have an idea of the way it’s calculated.

As of this post I have done 75 hubs. Some of the hubs that are makeing money online are ones most might not think of.

My best Hubpages online money making earners:

Mirena IUD experience

Colon Health

Humaworm

I do pretty well with non health topics too.. I have two articles about picking sexy lingerie that do quite well.

The one I’m most excited about is my Blue and Brown bedroom tips article. It’s about a great hotel style bedroom collection that anyone can put together. Just one reader can bring in $12 if it’s something they are into. This article can do very well for me as far as makeing money online so I’m definetly considering do many more this style.

I definitely recommend writing at Hubpages for anyone who is serious about considering makeing money online. To get started go to Hubpages and sign up.

Being the germaphobe that I am, I frequently request that my daughter wash her hands after using the sponge my mother uses for dishes. I am also the first to make a complaint anytime these green and yellow sponges are used for cleaning counters and other surfaces. I am only OK with the idea that they are used to clean dishes because I have some trust that our dishwasher can wash away the germys the sponge left on the plate when it was clearing off the food..

The Dec 2006 edition of the Journal of Environmental Health has no given me a way to feel a little better about these sponges my mother refuses to let go off. Their study showed that when microwaved for 4 minutes, all signs of microbacteria had vanished. Yep. microbuggies..Dead.

The study showed that in reality only 2 minutes were needed to kill 99% of bacteria including E. Coli. This is more effective then just tossing the sponge in the dishwasher.

So now I will take it apon myself to nuke the sponges every other day so that I do not feel it neccesacry to ask my daughter to wash her hands after using the same sponge my mother uses to wash the dishes.

In between regular nukes, placing in a small dish of diluted bleach water on the counter can give some piece of mind and reduce any ill smells.

The Plan!

Sponge should be suffieciently wet before microwaving (dry=possible fire?!)

Sponge will be hot. Place on a microwave safe plate to nuke and remove carefully.

My 19 year old brother, the World of Warcraft video game addict, does occasionally make his way out of our basement and into the sun during his free time. He has a good job and he’s able to save his paychecks up and buy things he really wants. For reasons we can only imagine are because he doesn’t have a girlfriend right now.

BTW if your 18-20 year old girl and live in South King County, Washington I’d love to hook you up. Serious he’s the coolest guy, mature, smart, gets along with everyone… I really didn’t plan for this to be a way to get him a girlfriend, but if it works. Use it.

His latest new toy is the Poweriser Jumping Stilts. Basically, Jumping Stilts do for stilt walking what Roller Blades did for roller skating.. They are just so much cooler, and you won’t see your mom or dad using them.

Jumping Stilts aka Extreme Stilts or Power Stilts look a little difficult to use, but seriously they are a piece of cake. I can even use them just fine. You won’t ever see me doing back flips or jumping cars, but a few jumps and some elevated walking, hell ya! They even make Poweriser Jumping Stilts for kids. No seriously. In bright pink and blue. Probably, you don’t want your 5 year old using them, but a 0 year old no problem. Just get the right size for them. It’s easiest to find Poweriser Jumping Stilts in adult sizes though.

If you’ve seen the extreme jumping stilts videos, don’t worry, your not going to accidently lose control and end up on your roof, or crashing down after getting 10 feet of clearance. The springs on power stilts that allow that costs more, they don’t come standard. You can however get a good 4 feet with these so I do not recommend doing it without a shirt or padding the way my brother does. He’s had them for two weeks and swears he’s only fallen once and that it wasn’t that bad. If you want to, you can get the best price buying jumping stilts at Ebay here. The specific brand my brother uses is Poweriser but there are a few other kinds.

The hardest part for me with creating new sites is breaking down to the basics of it and brainstorming new keywords. If your like me and are not a SEO expert, and you don’t have a lot of money to spend on programs and software that will help do it for you, finding the right keywords is part luck and part strategy. To pick the right keywords what it really comes down to is picking a keyword that is both obscure, and yet something everybody wants.

I stumbled apon this trick for brainstorming new keywords awhile ago. It had become second nature to me as part of my keyword selection process and I didn’t realize till recently that many people just don’t know about it. So, I’ll share.

This trick will actually work for anyone that is having a hard time trying to come up with new keywords. Whether it be for article marketing, BANS sites, Google Adsense sites. Whatever. I’ve been doing this as second nature and ya know I’m always on the look out for new ways to help me “brainstorm new keywords“

First, you want to get into Google Shopping. This link takes you to Google Product Search. the opening page lists a few keywords for products that have recently been searched for. There just might be something to lead you in the right direction here on the first page, and by all means if something strikes you run with it. For the purpose of this tutorial, we are going to be looking deeper.

My method is to choose any word. I look around at my surroundings. I think about my day. I pick random words that pop into my head.. We went swimming today, WATER. I used Lawry’s black pepper seasoning (love this stuff) on my green beans for dinner, PEPPER.

Just grab random words. Then run a search. What is on the bulk of the page is going to be the most relevant results. But we are not interested in this. What we want to look at is what is at the bottom of the page at the relevant searches option. here is an example I did for the word WATER. I find at the bottom of the page the option for related searches.

Once you’ve found this part, click on MORE >>

This is going to open up a new page and at the bottom you are going to find about 20 related keyword results to your search. These are just relevant keywords that people are searching for that contain my generic keywords.

Interesting, tankless water heater. I’ve never heard of it but there is a high demand for it by people who are interested in tankless water heaters. So, I start my process of checking how many results there are for this keyword string. Wow. There are actually a lot. When I am considering a keyword I like there to be at least less then 500K results back. With that I am usually pretty confident I can get on the first page so long as the other results are product pages for places like amazon, ebay auctions and such. For this one I would move on.

In this related searches results I see the keywords “water filter”. FILTER. For my next search I might try the word filter and see where it goes. If from these results you don’t find something that strikes a cord with you, you can either try another search, or borrow a keyword from this list and try that.

This may not be the “best” way to find keywords, but for me, it’s been a great source of inspiration when brainstorming new keywords.

I waited about a year to get my own Nintendo Wii. I actually had the Wii Skins for for my remote and nunchuk and a few games (go Monkey Ball!) before I even purchased my Nintendo Wii.

Now, I’ve got the remote and nunchuk pretty much figured out. I’ve even done OK with Guitar Hero. But this next one, man I’m gonna master it. I will be “ULTIMATE WII STRIPPER POLE DANCER” <– cue loud announcer voice over.

OK, so there is not a stripper pole for Wii yet. But it may be on it’s way. there is a U.K company called Peekaboo who’s gonna try and make it all happen. They specialize in temporary at home stripper poles. You know.. Put it up for play time, take it down when grandma comes over. Peekaboo is working on a Wii game for strip aerobics. Hottie Carmen Electra has her endorsement on one of Peekaboo’s stripper pole models, however don’t count on her being in the game.

I am for one am not in the least bit surprised. For all intensive purposes lets just say the “majority” of video game developers probably were not the head captain on the football team in high school. No these were the guys who insistently pulled at their way to long bangs to straighten them with their “Zelda Rules” stickers on their backpacks. I’m guessing, video game developers didn’t get laid much in high school. Now they found a Way to help their fellow younger geeks get a better shot at gettin’ lucky.

Now that is a complete assumption of mine and I could be entirely wrong They could be a bunch of college grads who were sex driven frat guys in their earlier years and finally put together a incredibly inventive way to get girls to voluntarily use a stripper pole. I knew such a guy. He actually did have a stripper pole in his game room. I however did not use it. Had it been hooked to the Wii I may have felt more inclined to dress accordingly and prepare for my video game experience.

Now all of this is irrellevent if Nintendo shoots them down. During the review and approval process this could be dead duck in the water before anyone could even start planning where to put their new stripper pole.

Nintendo generally walks the safe road, so chances are this will get cut off the table. But I’m rooting for Peekaboo! ABC news release Here

I came across a new-to-me website called Omgili Which stands for “Oh My God I Love it” that has search engine that grabs information from forum and message board posts, mailing lists, and answer boards.

Omigili has the potential to be thee best way to search message boards, forums, mailing lists, and answer boards. Right now there is a tab at the top that combines the searching power to bring back BOTH the regular Google results and Omgili’s results.

Up to this point webmasters have been using message boards, forums, and answer boards, to gain back links and increase traffic from within the forum. There intention is usually not to get their forum post in search engine results but like I said, to gain back links and traffic within the forum.

I can see as Omgili’s popularity grows webmasters spending more time paying attention to their message board, forum posts, and answers on answers boards and the keywords they use as they do with their actual websites and other back link generating methods.

I am pleased how targeted the desired results are for my chosen search terms. I tend to prefer to find my information and answers to my questions via message boards and forums because there is more variety in opinion. Reading an article explaining or discussing a topic, there tends to be only the authors point of view and possibly a few comments. In a message board or forum, there is a variety in opinions and there is usually better feedback relating to the information I am looking for.

Omgili is relativity new, web start-up company established in 2006 and received seed financing just last year in April of 2007. This is not a NEW type of site though. I have come across message board and forum search engines before. I was disappointed because of how few relevant search results came back. Since using Omigili, I tend to find 4 out of the 6 results just on the first page to be relevant. Occasionally there are returns of forum or message board posts with intentions of only trying to sell something, but generally speaking the majority of the search results actually provide very helpful information.

I wonder how long before Google buys them out and adds to their empire.

A World of Warcraft player may spend hours a day almost everyday playing the World of Warcraft. Why. Because it is entertaining for their mind. I myself am not very good at WOW but I am confident I could beat anyone at the Warcraft Tax Collectors game. My brother however is a big Warcraft gamer. He is just one the many who can literally spend 4 hours a night or more just playing this game.

Imagine then if thousands and thousands of gamers like my brother were playing a game that had more then just an entertainment purpose. Games like Brain Age and other mind and memory strengthing games are doing that on a personal level. But what if there was a entertaining, challenging game with a purpose that was meant to do so much more.. Maybe even cure complex diseases.

We’ll there is. Fold It is here and Science is looking to die hard and casual gamers to help solve life’s science mysteries. Fold it, developed by Rosetta@Home is a game that takes the science of protein folding and turns it into a challenging, engaging game for everyone. There are more than 100,000 different kinds of proteins in the human body. Proteins form cells, the make up of the immune system and determine the speed of chemical reactions. They are the building blocks of life.

They claim 20 minutes is all it takes to understand how the game works and then the gamer is off to work trying to find out how to break down proteins to their lowest-energy folded state. It is like a game of Tetris or a rubiks cube. It is a complex puzzle and solving the puzzle with the highest score is how to win. Yes there are points! High points on posted on the website. There are already 200,000 volunteers playing this game in the name of science but it’s not enough.

Why is the science community hoping this will take off.? There are computer simulators who’s sole purpose is to calculate all possible protein shapes, but this is mathematical puzzle that would centuries to solve left to computer simulators alone. Rosetta@Home and the science community is hoping to play on the average person, you know.. you and me. The human mind works in a way a computer simulator can not. We adapt and learn from trial and error. Rosetta@Home is hoping a volunteer in their study could solve some of these complex puzzles using intuition and natural 3D problem solving skills. Players claim the Fold.it game is not difficult to learn. Players are started in low easy modes and advance as their problem solving skills do with the game.

What’s in it for the player.. Since being a part of solving complex mysterious such as the make up of diseases is just not enough for some, it has been said that the players with the highest scores would be included in scientific papers resulting from this project. Mom’s and Dad’s. Get your kids in the scientific journals, encourage them to play their computer games!

Starting in the Fall, Fold It will start offering game scenerios of protiens we wish exsisted, such as those that can break up toxic waste, or absorb carbon dioxide, I’m hoping they can do something about Bananas rotting to quickly.

Computers can’t do this, they can’t just create a new protien to solve a problem. Fold It wants to see if it’s volenteer’s can. Eventually Fold It will be used to go up against serious medical mystery such as destroying HIV or Malaria. They are hoping to challenge the players into being able to create a protien that could go into the virus and stop it from performing its function. Protein designs considered winners would be used in an actual lab, the protein synthesized in a petri dish

The research funding is coming from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Microsoft Corp. and Adobe Systems Inc., and also coming in from fellowships at Nvidia Corp. and Intel Corp.

Go here to learn more and download Fold It.

Chris Carter is bringing back another X-Files movie titled The X-Files: I Want to Believe to the theaters but not because he wanted to. studio 20th Century Fox basically said “‘if you don’t do it now…’ turns out they are afraid that those of us who were die hard X-Files fans would’nt be interested in a future X-Files sequel if they didn’t do it now.

Are you kidding? I’ll watch Mulder and Scully in their wheelchairs trying to save the world and solve all of our mysterious otherworldly paranormal mysteries. I remember skipping out on doing things with friends in jr. high and high school just to be able to make sure and watch the new show on friday night, then later on sunday night.

15 years old and a huge crush on David Duchovny. Didn’t share that with many back then. I wasn’t hot for Tom Cruise or Leonardo Dicaprio, my 15 year old girly desires were focused on Mulder and all his glory.

David Duchovny was excited to make the sequel as was Gillian Anderson who I must say aged into quite a hottie herself!

I am a child of the 80’s. I did what every other kind in the 80’s did. Saturday morning I parked my butt right in front of the TV and glued my eyes to the screen to watch low educational value cartoons and kids shows produced solely for my entertainment only. I didn’t know Tom and Jerry never said a word through the whole show until I was in my twenties and I watched it with my little girl. It’s not like it is today.

Today it’s Dora, and Blue’s Clues, Little Einsteins. Educationally rich shows that actually teach kids something. My 3 year old daughter can recognize Mozart among other famous muscians and artisit so ya, it serves it’s purpose.

But those older shows were entertaining and some of them, OK a few of them actually had some good moral values it tried to impress upon us youngsters. Fraggle Rock was one of them. Guess What! They are coming back.

Disney is bringing Fraggle Rock back and doing it big screen style. Jim Henson Productions is still in the works with this. But the word is in ‘09 Fraggle Rock: The Movie will be in theaters. Gobo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red are taking on a whole new sort of adventure outside of Fraggle Rock. The are going to OUTER SPACE. Actually They will be coming into our world. But to them it’s OUTER SPACE. -cue Muppets voice over.

The kid in me is like “WOW” The adult in me is like ya I can dig it. I set up a BANS site just for the occasion. FRAGGLE ROCK TOYS

. Just in time for all the collectors of Fraggle Rock Toys and those trying to make a few bucks with resell can get in fast , buy now while they are cheap, and re-sell when the movie comes out and everyone wants the original collector Fraggle Rock Toys.

I’m thinking about buying myself a metal Fraggle Rock lunch box. I saw one on it’s last few minutes for less than $10. I miss those metal lunch boxes. We used to throw them by the wall as we left the lunch room and head for the playground. Those things were indestructible.

Let me start off by saying I am not brilliant, but I do believe I’m pretty intelligent, maybe a little flaky, but intelligent none the less. I can do many things that are usually left up to the “smart kids” to figure out. If I don’t know how to do something I research it till I do. Or I put trial and error on the table until it’s 3AM and my feet are falling asleep. But eventually I figure it out and I can teach myself anything. I’m just glad this was just supposed to be a WordPress 5 Minute Install. Had this been a WordPress 3 Hour Install I this would have been a 4 day project.

Hostgator does not have wordpress installation as an option like DowntownHost does(my first hosting company) so I had to use Filezilla to upload Wordpress. No big deal I thought because I’ve been using it frequently the past few days to upload my Build A Niche Site to my BANS websites. I used a step by step video to learn how to upload BANS with Filezilla. Pretty simple.. Move files into public_html do a few other things and PRESTO! BANS site ready to go.

It should have been this easy with wordpress. Actually it should have been easier. WordPress and the many blog post explained how to do the process. They shout out WordPress 5 Minute Install it’s simple, it’s easy, a caveman could do it. Blowhards…Man I need some original tag lines.

Except every mention about it said to install in the main directory. What the hell is a main directory. I thought this was the main folder of the site. WRONG. Had I just gone with my gut instinct and installed it in public_html like I do with my BANS sites this WordPress 5 Minute Install would have taken 5 minutes. Instead I spent 3 hours trying to troubleshoot my problem using other ideas I had. Ie: it’s the programs fault not the user. I terminated my web account 3 times, deleted and re uploaded wordpress twice as many times. Yet here I was still recieving a damn 404 error message.

Screw it. I’m going to try public_html. PRESTO CHANGO. 404 is gone. But wait. What’s this. wordpress isn’t happy with the way I filled out the wp_config.php file. 4 times I changed that thing before it took. Screw your WordPress 5 Minute Install guys.

The moral of the story: it’s not bad gas this time. My gut was right and was pissed off that my brain couldn’t wrap it’s head around the fact that just cause it’s near the colon, doesn’t mean it knows jack sh*t.

I actually do know Jack Sh*t by the way..Nice guy.
